Look at the people walking with their heads down

Lost in thought, watching the pavement

See them notice not the passers-by, but their shadows

its kind of sad really, to think

if they tilted their chin up just a little higher

they would discover a world 

a world that's truly beautiful

but instead they walk with their heads down

living in a shadow land.

                         Passing ships in the night,
            stealing sweet dreams away.
                           carry our sanity, our fear and our doubt,
   leaving us with nothing but what really is,
                                               and it is then we realize,
                       we are not all entirely broken.
